Hunting the northern lights from the ocean is an amazing and new experience. You are sailing away from the coastline of Reykjavik and seeing the aurora borealis out on the North-Atlantic ocean with beautiful mountains and the city lights in the background is something you won't forget!

  • Day 1

    Arrive Iceland and check-in ION Luxury Adventure Hotel

    When you arrive to Keflavik Airport, your driver will await your arrival. Your first stop will be the relaxing waters of the Blue Lagoon where you’ll have a stop of two - three hours. Enjoy the warming geothermal water and the chance to start your trip in style. Lunch is available at the Blue Lagoon. After your experience at the Lagoon, your driver will transfer you to ION Luxury Adventure Hotel which is located in the Icelandic countryside just over one hour from the international airport. 

    ION’s location by the “Golden Circle” route makes it the perfect base from which to explore Iceland’s rich heritage, hardy flora and fauna, and myriad opportunities for adventure. Close to Thingvellir National Park (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), ION provides easy access to all the essential attractions of “the land of fire and ice”. Dinner will be served in ION's restaurant Silfra. Silfra restaurant embodies the local flavor and spirit of Iceland, offering seasonal and contemporary dishes with an emphasis on sustainable, farm-fresh ingredients from close surroundings. 

    After dark, look out for appearances of the Northern Lights in this wild, remote location.

  • Day 2

    Golden Circle and Langjokull Glacier

    After breakfast, be ready for a day of adventure to make the most of your stay in Iceland. We'll arrange an English-speaking private driver guide for your disposal. Together you'll decide how you'd like to spend your day. 

    Here you will see for yourself one of only two tectonic rift valleys in the world, created as the continental plates slowly drift. Þingvellir is also the only UNESCO‘s cultural world-heritage site in Iceland. From there trail lies behind the picturesque shield volcano Skjaldbreið and along our second biggest glacier, the Langjökull glacier. After about a two hours’ drive on mountain trails and some river crossings you'll return to normal roads again just above Gullfoss waterfall. There will be a short stop to take a look at the spectacular waterfall before driving to the Geysir hot springs which are only 10 km down the road. At Geysir you will see a variety of geothermal pools and erupting hot springs, surely one of the highlights of any visit to Iceland. You also have the option to include a one hour snow mobile activity on the glacier. 

    On South Shore Super Jeep Safari tour, you will see the South Shore’s most treasured natural sights. The super jeep will head east from ION Adventure hotel and after about 60 minutes’ drive you will be walking behind the 65 meter high Seljalandsfoss waterfall! Next there will be a short stop at Skógafoss waterfall and last but not least you'll drive at one of Iceland’s amazing black lava sand beaches and dunes. The tour also includes a glacier hike on Sólheimajökull glacier.

    Thorsmork and Eyjafjallajokull Volcano excursion offers you a chance to see and experience some of Iceland’s greatest natural phenomena, geology and history and the waterfall Seljarlandsfoss. Hiking paths lead up to the waterfall and behind it where you can stand. After a stop you'll head to Thorsmork, a valley situated between three glaciers, with a stop at the Gigjokull further up the valley. From there you can hike up to the edge of the magnificent glacier Eyjafjallajokull that descends from the summit of a volcano in a jumble of crevasses. You'll cross the deep and roaring rivers that guard the wooded surrounds of Thorsmork and you will have time to hike through the area and to some of the many viewpoints it offers.

  • Day 3

    Leisure at hotel

    Breakfast and day at leisure to enjoy the hotel. Perhaps you’ll opt for a spa treatment. After dinner, you’ll head out into the night on a super jeep hunt for the Northern Lights on a private guided tour.  

  • Day 4

    Back to Reykjavik and Northern Light by boat

    After breakfast and a leisurely morning, we’ll arrange a transfer to Reykjavik where you’ll check in at Icelandair Hotel Marina - a Nordic-design hotel close to the city center. You’ll stay in a double attic room at the hotel. 

    In the evening, you’ll depart on an evening search for the Northern Lights by boat. Hunting the northern lights BOAT from the sea is an amazing experience; sailing away from the coastline of Reykjavik and seeing the aurora borealis out on the North-Atlantic ocean with beautiful mountains and the city lights in the background is something you won't forget!  You’ll be given warm overalls during the tour as well as refreshments. The tour lasts for approximately 2-2.5 hours. 

  • Day 5

    Reykjavik city tour & Whale Watching Excursion

    Breakfast and day at leisure to explore Reykjavik. We’ll provide you with access to our guide to Reykjavik to help you make the most of your stay. Walking tour of Reykjavik will be arranged. Before you ask me that the whale watching which come earlier this year and afternoon, we will go to join whale watching tour by boat.

  • Day 6

    Visit to Ice Cave at Langjokull

    Today you'll have the chance to join a group tour to visit a unique and remote man-made ice cave in Langjökull, one of Iceland‘s largest and most spectacular glaciers. You begin the tour by bus and then change to a monster-truck which will take you almost to the top of the glacier, where you enter the magnificent cave. Going into the glacier is an unforgettable trip which takes place in one of the world's greatest wilderness. Imagine standing on an ice cap reaching 600 metres below your feet! 

  • Day 7

    Full day to Snaefellsnes peninsula

    Your final day's tour takes you to the west of Iceland to visit the Snaefellsnes peninsula. In addition to its characteristic Snæfellsjökull glacier, you will find white and black sandy beaches, bird cliffs, spectacular mountains and volcanic craters, incredibly rich trout lakes and salmon rivers, lush valleys, and unique harbours in charming fishing villages. 

  • Day 8

    Departure

    An early start today and private transfer to the airport in time for your departing flight.
