Amankila, Bali

The approach to Amankila builds a sense of anticipation as the long drive winds up, then down to the airy lobby. LOCATION

On the east coast of Bali, Amankila is within easy reach of Denpasar as well as Amandari and Amanusa. The resort is close to Manggis, Candi Dasa, Tenganan and other villages where traditional crafts are still practiced, and outings to explore the region’s natural beauty are well worth the effort.

Amankila’s suites are elevated to take advantage of the spectacular sea and hillside views which makes for the perfect setting in the realm of luxury Bali resorts.The 34 free-standing suites, with their alang alang roof thatching, are fashioned as beach houses with a twist. They reflect the lines and flow of their East Bali surroundings, in particular the royal water palace just outside Amlapura, the district capital. Suites are connected to the reception and restaurant area by raised walkways. Wireless broadband connections are available in all resort accommodation and public areas.

HIGHLIGHTS

Aside from the infamous three-tiered swimming pool overlooking the ocean, the Beach Club located at the base of the cliff is only a five minute walk below the main resort. Guests can enjoy yoga by Amankila's largest swimming pool at 41-metres and extensive watersports such as sucba diving, kayaking and snorkelling. Eight private lounging bales are set along the sandy beach, each tucked away into the foilage for added privacy. Enjoy a private tour of the Romanesque royal palace, which is more Baroque than Balinese in places, and visit the 11-tiered fountain at the Water Place in Tirta Gangga Palace and end the day at the restaurant located above the main pool overlooking the ocean or opt for a private dining experience including private satay dinner in a private bale in the mountains.
